Hendrix Douglas was born on May 13, 2020, in New Jersey via water birth at home at 3:37 p.m, weighing 9 lbs., 4 oz., and measuring 21 inches.

While talking with People, Jamie said,
It was intense. The contractions came and they were like fire — all-consuming of my whole entire body. It was very, very painful, but I tried really hard not to panic and reminded myself that my baby boy is going through the same exact thing that I am.
She further revealed that his midwife had to stimulate Hendrix to cry!
My midwife ended up helping me deliver him, and he came out and was perfect. He didn’t even really cry! I had to stimulate him to cry. He was so calm.
Name Changed From Hayes to Hendrix
Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner initially named Hendrix Douglas, Hayes.
We named him Hayes before we met him. We both really liked the name Hayes too.
However, soon after his birth, Jamie almost called him Hendrix instead of Hayes. Jamie said,
The minute we had our son, the minute he came out, even before then, the first time I looked at him, I almost called him Hendrix!
Jamie felt pressured to make a decision about his name because she thought it would help her bond with her son. When filling out his birth certificate, his parents made the final decision of naming him, Hendrix.
Name Connected with Late Brother Johnathan
Hendrix’s name is also a connection to his late eldest brother, Johnathan Edward. Edward died when Jamie was 17 weeks pregnant in 2016.

Has an Elder Sister
Hendrix Douglas has an elder sister named Henley Grace Hehner (b. August 22, 2017 ). His 4-year-old sister is active on Instagram (run by her parents) with more than 58.5k followers.

Hendrix Tested Positive for COVID
Jamie Otis revealed through her Instagram on December 19 that her one-year-old, Hendrix Douglas tested positive for COVID. They were quarantined at home until the day after Christmas.
