Former New Orleans Saints head coach, Sean Payton has two kids with his ex-wife, Beth Shuey. Connor Payton is his youngest and only son.
Payton was born on May 31, 2000, and was raised alongside his elder sister, Meghan Payton. He graduated from Liberty Christian School in Fort Worth, Texas, and joined Texas Christian University in 2019.

When Connor Payton was 12 years old, his dad, Sean Payton, visited him following a one-year suspension due to the Bountygate Scandal. During this time, Sean coached his son’s 6th-grade football team, “Warriors“.
Payton only coached his son’s football team for that year since he had to return to his head coach duties at New Orleans Saints after the suspension was over. In 2022, Sean announced his retirement from his coaching position at the New Orleans Saints. He was their head coach for 16 years. At present, he is the head coach of the Denver Broncos.
Home Team Based on His Dad’s Story
When Meghan Payton had a featured segment about their dad’s story on NFL Network, her then-boyfriend (now husband), Christopher Titone, was inspired to make a movie out of it. The movie was released on Netflix on January 28, 2022, starring Kevin James, Tait Blum, Jackie Sandler, and Taylor Lautner.
The movie follows Sean who visits his son to spend some time with him during the Bountygate Scandal suspension but ends up coaching his 6th-grade football team.
Parents are Separated
Connor Payton is the only son of Sean Payton and Beth Shuey. The duo first met in college in 1990 and two years later, on July 11, 1992, they walked down the aisle.
Sean and Beth separated in 2012 after the former filed for divorce on June 13, 2012, in Tarrant County. The pair received joint custody of their kids at the beginning, however, Beth later became the primary custodian after she filed a petition requesting the same. Following their divorce, Beth received a home in Brazos Court in Vaquero worth $3.450 million.
Post-divorce, Beth married Jamie McGuire on September 20, 2020, while Sean tied the knot with Skylene Montgomery on November 8, 2020.
