The pair separated after 13 years in March 1999 and filed for divorce on November 6, 2000, citing irreconcilable differences. They finalized their divorce on December 17, 2001.
Although Garth and Sandy separated, they took care of their children together. They co-parented their children for 14 years.
They saw both their parents in the morning and both their parents in the evening, and for 14 years. That was how we ran it because we knew it was right for those kids. If you did what was right for the kids, you were going to do what was right for you. It was simple.
