Kai Knapp is the youngest daughter of Cruel Intentions actor Ryan Phillippe and the only child of Pitch Perfect alum, Alexis Knapp.
Early Life of Kai Knapp
Kai Knapp was born Kailani Merizalde Phillippe-Knapp on Friday, July 1, 2011, in Los Angeles, California, to Ryan Phillippe and Alexis Knapp. Her paternal grandparents are Richard and Susan Phillippe while her maternal grandparents are Bradford Elwood and Marjorie Knapp.

Her birth certificate included ‘Phillippe’ as a part of her last name though the section to name the baby’s father was left blank.
During her birth, Alexis had revealed that she looked just like her dad, Ryan. But, she began to resemble her mother as she approached her first birthday.
She looks like moi. A lot more so now. They always come out looking like the dads, because men are just fat and puffy and can’t open their eyes too much.
Relationship of Her Parents
Kai’s parents, Ryan Phillippe and Alexis Knapp started dating in mid-2010. But, they broke up in September of the same year. The pair discovered about Knapp’s pregnancy only after they’d broken up.

Kai’s mother revealed her pregnancy in mid-February 2011 at an industry event. Her father was dating actress Amanda Seyfriend at the time. (They broke up the same year.)
Around March 2011, Alexis revealed that Ryan was the father of her child.
Ryan has known since the beginning that he’s the dad. He is not taking a paternity test. He is a good father, and whether this is his baby or not, he wants to do the right thing and be supportive.

Kai Knapp has two step-siblings, Ava Elizabeth and Deacon Reese Phillippe from her father, Ryan Phillippe’s marriage with ex-wife, Reese Witherspoon.

Ava Elizabeth Phillippe, who was born on September 9, 1999, is a photographer, sculptor, and sketch artist. The 22-year-old has been dating Owen Mahoney since 2019.
Kai’s elder step-brother, Deacon was born on October 3, 2003. He started his music career in 2020 during the COVID lockdowns and already has two Singles to his name. The 18-year-old is currently dating Marine Degryse.
