Solana Imani Rowe AKA SZA weighed more than 200 lbs prior to joining the entertainment industry but now she has dropped well over 50 lbs and become as thin as a rail.
Her dream was to become an Olympic gymnast, but it changed when she sang for her rapper brother. Well, accidental or not, she’s become a star with hit songs like Good Days, All the Stars, and Hit Different.

SZA Weighed 200 lbs
When SZA started her career, she weighed 200 pounds or 90.7 kilograms. She had to wear only baggy clothes and had to even put on her father’s shirts.
During the launch of Dove’s Girl Collective in 2018, she spoke about being 200 pounds and comfortable in her own skin.
The singer believes one should love their body and it’s a good thing to be comfortable in your body but they should try to see their full potential. She revealed it during an interview and shared how she came out of her comfort zone.
Due to this reason, she started thinking of losing weight. Her manager always supported her decisions and didn’t want her to lose weight for the sake of others.
Although she didn’t like the ’90s style, she was always seen wearing it because of her weight.
SZA’s Weight Loss Journey
Losing weight for SZA was very difficult as she had digestive issues. But she didn’t give up and worked hard to lose weight. During her journey, she shared a list of foods that made her ill.

- Berries: Blueberry, Strawberry, Raspberry
- Shellfish: Crab, Shrimp
- Seafood: Cod, Halibut, Mackerel, Flounder
- Dairy/Eggs: Egg yolks, Cow Milk

- Beans: Navy bean, String bean, Soybean
- Vegetables: Mushroom, Onion, Olive, Cabbage, Spinach
- Nuts/ Seeds: Cashew, Sesame seed
- Spices: Vanilla, Paprika
While talking about her weight loss journey on January 31, 2015, through Instagram, she wrote how she dropped 11 lbs to weigh 158 lbs.
In the now-deleted post, she shared how hard it was for her to manage weight loss due to genetics and a damaged digestive system.
SZA ends her Instagram post by asking her ladies to not give up so easily and stay committed. She says she is sleeping better, has more energy, and is motivated after losing weight.
Diet Plan of SZA
Well, SZA didn’t exactly follow a diet plan but her clean eating habit made it possible. While revealing her weight loss secrets in an Instagram post, she revealed how she never followed any crazy diet or supplements. She just did what felt right for her like drinking lots of water, eating less cheese and sugar, and being more active.
When one of her fans asked her about her diet, she revealed she stayed away from dairy, wheat, sugar, and red meat. She also said she ate fish, high veggie, complex carbs, and drank lots of water.
