We all know 20 Grammy Awards winner, Tony Bennett was married thrice. But do you know, who his first wife, Patricia Beech is?
Marriage with Tony Bennett
Patricia Beech and Tony Bennett married on February 12, 1951, at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City.
They first met at a nightclub called Moe’s Main in Cleveland. She asked for his autograph backstage after he finished his performance. A year later they got married.
I met and fell in love with a young woman named Patricia Beech in July of 1951. I was singing at Moe’s Main Street in Cleveland, Ohio, and one night she came in with a date. I could see her from the stage – she was sitting ringside – and I was taken with her beauty.

Fun Fact: During their marriage, Tony was seen as a heartthrob. So, when he decided to get hitched, around 2,000 female fans dressed in black gathered outside his wedding venue in mock mourning.
Divorce Issues with Bennett
Tony was a performer so he was always on the road for his concerts and events. As for Beech, she stayed back home even though her husband asked her to travel with him.
They were mostly in a long-distance relationship and that got the better of them. This led to their separation.
The long separations when I left home to play the clubs killed both marriages. But I had to go on the road. I was in Vaudeville, and a Vaudevillian goes where the work is. But for a marriage to work, both parties have to be there.
Though they separated in 1965, they only finalized their divorce in 1971 after Beech received an undisclosed amount as alimony.
Two years prior to their divorce, on September 25, 1969, Patricia sued her ex-husband for divorce on grounds of adultery and desertion after 17 years of marriage at the Chancery Division of Superior Court.
According to the documents, the actor left his first wife on August 19, 1964, and went on to commit adultery with Sandra Grant (his second wife). He was even expecting a baby – all while not being officially divorced.
Remarriage?
After her divorce, Patricia remained out of the limelight and hence, we are unsure about her later relationships.
Meanwhile, Tony walked down the aisle with Sandra Grant on December 29, 1971, in a private wedding ceremony. They were together for eight years until 1979; however, their divorce was only finalized in 2007.
Bennett also married a third time, this time, to Susan Marion Crow. They married on June 21, 2007, in New York, and were married till his death in 2023.

Two Kids with Tony
Patricia Beech and Tony Bennett had two kids together.
Their elder son, D’Andrea (Danny Andrea) Bennett was born in 1954. Similarly, their second son, Dae / D’Angel (Daegal Angel) Bennett was born in 1955.
Divorce smashes something. And it affects everyone – kids as well as grown-ups. One of my few regrets is that I wasn’t with my children as much as I would have liked. But I did stay involved with them. I truly tried to be a good father and some of my most wonderful moments were with them.
Tony also has two other kids with his second wife, Sandra Grant. His third child, Johanna Bennett was born in 1969, while his youngest kid, Antonia Bennett, was born on April 7, 1974.
Death of Tony Bennett
Tony Bennett passed away at the age of 96 at his home in New York on July 21, 2023. He died following a seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s.
